Ever since signing with WWE, Je'Von Evans has been delivering impressive performances in NXT. While just 21, he has already faced some of the top stars on NXT, like Ilja Dragunov, Shawn Spears, and Oba Femi. Tonight, he had the biggest opportunity of his life.
Last week on NXT, Cody Rhodes showed up and announced that there would be a number one contender's Battle Royal for Trick Williams' championship. This match kicked off the show tonight. There were even surprise appearances from Joe Hendry and Frankie Kazarian.

The match proved intense, and the final four consisted of Shawn Spears, Je'Von Evans, Frankie Kazarian, and Dragon Lee. Evans eliminated Kazarian, while Spears eliminated Lee.
It finally came down to Spears and Evans. After a quick back-and-forth, Evans sent Shawn over the top rope to pick up the win. He will now face Trick for the NXT Championship at Heatwave on July 7.
If Je'Von Evans defeats Williams at the event, he will become the youngest NXT Champion in history.
