Shawn Michaels oversees the future of WWE's next top stars as the head booker of the NXT developmental brand. In a recent interview, NXT talent Karmen Petrovic recalled how her boss reacted positively to her first televised wrestling match.

Petrovic competed in Karate for several years before joining WWE in 2022. On the July 28, 2023, episode of NXT Level Up, the 28-year-old lost to Ivy Nile in her first official bout on WWE programming.

Speaking on Casual Conversations, Petrovic shared the encouraging feedback she received from Michaels after the show:

"Shawn was like, 'Hey, you did so good. I'm so happy for you. I think you found your spot here. I'm pretty sure that you can do this sport for however long you want.' He's like, 'Don't be like me, though, and stay in it forever!'" [1:19:16 – 1:19:34]

Petrovic has wrestled 16 times on television so far in her short WWE career. One of her most notable matches occurred on May 21 when she teamed up with Natalya to defeat Lola Vice and Shayna Baszler.

Shawn Michaels "can't wait" to see Karmen Petrovic's journey

Several NXT women have moved to the main roster over the last year, including Blair Davenport, Kiana James, Lyra Valkyria, and Tiffany Stratton.

Karmen Petrovic added that Shawn Michaels is looking forward to seeing where her career goes in the coming years:

"Honestly, just hearing that from him, he's like, 'Honestly, I'm not worried about you. You can do this for however long you choose to.' And he's like, 'And I can't wait to see the journey.' That's something that stuck with me forever." [1:19:37 – 1:19:52]

In her most recent match, Petrovic defeated Wren Sinclair on the July 21 episode of NXT Level Up.
