Triple H has brought back many superstars over the past few years ever since he replaced Vince McMahon as Head of Creative in 2022. In a recent interview, Maven addressed whether he would like to join the list of returning names.
Maven worked for WWE between 2001 and 2005. The 47-year-old won the first season of the reality show Tough Enough and captured the Hardcore Championship three times. Over the last year, he has amassed an impressive 431k subscribers on his YouTube channel.
On Developmentally Speaking, Maven made it clear he is not actively seeking a return to wrestling. However, he is open to the idea if any companies approach him:
"If they [WWE] never wanna work with me, fine. I'm fine with that. Or if they do wanna work with me and we can find something that works, I'd be willing to talk to them. If AEW contacted me and had an idea, I would listen to them. I would hear them out. And if nobody wants me, I'm fine with that. I'm gonna ride this YouTube thing out as long as I can." Maven is arguably best remembered for eliminating The Undertaker from the 2002 Royal Rumble match. At the time, the Tough Enough winner was only a rookie while The Deadman was one of WWE's most well-known stars.
Maven on whether he would enter the WWE Royal Rumble again
Given his history with the annual match, Maven was asked if he would like to appear in another Royal Rumble.
The two-time Royal Rumble entrant said he would be willing to participate in the 30-man match if he is given enough preparation time:
"Well, I hope they give me some time to get my a** in shape!" Maven replied. "I'm almost 50 now, brother! Everything hurts, and the dropkick is more like a navel kick these days." [From 47:06 – 47:18]
Maven's last WWE match aired on the June 26, 2005, episode of Sunday Night Heat. He teamed up with Antonio and Romeo in a losing effort against The Hurricane, Rosey, and Val Venis.
