A former WWE champion has made a very emotional post. He talked about how he was told he would never wrestle again and has now provided an update.

Erik of the Viking Raiders suffered an injury and announced it in October 2023. In November, he told fans that he had undergone successful neck fusion surgery. The star has not returned to the ring since the injury but appears to be doing well.

In a post on Instagram, he revealed how he had suffered a tragic accident as he was involved in a motorcycle wreck back in 2014. At the time, the star was told that he would never be able to wrestle again. Now, 10 years down the line, he's not only wrestling. He's a full-time Viking with a beautiful family.

The three-time WWE champion thought his life was over that day and had no idea it would turn out to be as wonderful as it is now.

"8/12/2014 I should have died in a motorcycle wreck and doctors told me that I’d never wrestle again. 8/12/2024 I have a beautiful family and I’m a full time viking, in and outside of the ring. It was impossible to imagine when I thought my life was over that today my life would be so wonderful it’s difficult to capture it in one small sentence. #thankful," the star wrote.

Erik has been teasing a return to WWE

Erik has been absent for a long time, but the star posted pictures from the Performance Center a few months back, implying that he was back and training.

It's not certain whether he's been cleared for an in-ring return, but it appears that he could come back to the show sometime soon. WWE fans will have to wait and watch.
