Former women's tag team champion Chelsea Green has become an impactful wrestler in recent times. Her move to SmackDown has only helped highlight her talents as a comedic heel in both her matches and her promos. Interestingly, a 33-year-old WWE Superstar has now unveiled her true thoughts on The Hot Mess.
Piper Niven and Chelsea Green have been each other’s reliable partners on both NXT and SmackDown. The duo teamed up after Green's former partner Sonya Deville was injured and as the Scottish star stepped up to become one-half of the women's tag team champions. Since then the stars have been together and have recently been feuding with Bayley, who will defend her Women's Championship against Niven at Clash at the Castle.
Recently, the 33-year-old Niven spoke to PWInsider about her off-screen relationship with Green and revealed that she is a figure of inspiration for her.
“She's great. She's honestly just, she actually was quite an inspiration for me because we spent a lot of time together in Japan. When we were in Japan together, she was actively trying to get tryouts and be picked up by WWE and she kept getting a lot of no's and Chelsea does not take no for an answer. She doesn't hear no, she hears 'not right now' or 'find another way.' To me, that was inspiring because that would have been a huge knock to my confidence.”
Chelsea Green makes a smooth transition for Piper Niven
Piper Niven will be facing Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship on June 15, 2024, at Clash at the Castle. Interestingly, Chelsea Green was initially targeting The Role Model and even faced her one SmackDown in a non-title match to bolster her chances. However, she ended up losing her match, resulting in Piper Niven attacking Bayley.
Since then, the Scottish superstar has been vying for the WWE Women’s Championship. Niven had her eyes on the title earlier as well. However, she was supporting Green in her endeavor to win it. Now, The Hot Mess is doing the same and cheering on her tag team partner.
It will be interesting to see if Niven can dethrone Bayley, as she confidently claimed, in a home turf match.
