A noted wrestling veteran has expressed his desire to see himself inducted into the coveted WWE Hall of Fame. The person in question is Steve Lombardi (FKA The Brooklyn Brawler), who made it clear that despite his interest in being inducted, he wouldn't be too disappointed if the promotion chose not to honor him.

For those unaware, Lombardi had been a part of the Stamford-based promotion from 1983-2016, where he was first a wrestler and later transitioned to the role of a road agent. The 63-year-old performer last competed inside the squared circle at an indie show in 2022 and has since then maintained a low profile.

In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, The Brooklyn Brawler discussed his chances of being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. The wrestling legend explained that he had made enough contributions to the business to find a place in the coveted club. However, Steve Lombardi added that it wasn't in his hands and that he wouldn't be disgruntled if WWE wasn't keen on it.

"I think the Brooklyn Brawler has more contributions and more accolades to be in the Hall of Fame. I believe that being in the Hall of Fame is their choice; I am not losing sleep over not being in the Hall of Fame, but I believe that there's no way in life that one day I won't be in the Hall of Fame. I just hope it's not when I'm dead. I've done so much, and the one thing that no one could ever take away from me is my memories," he said. [H/T: WrestlingInc]

The Brooklyn Brawler on brutalizing WWE CCO Triple H

During the same interview, The Brooklyn Brawler strolled down memory lane and recalled the time when he defeated Triple H on an episode of SmackDown in 2000. The WWE veteran also addressed the vicious beatdown on him by The Game in the immediate aftermath of the match that left him bloodied.

"Triple H, of course, got to get his heat back, so he starts beating the sh*t out of me, beating the sh*t out of me, beating the sh*t out of me, beating the sh*t out of me. Throws me outside, and then I got blood. I was bleeding, and then, I'll never forget, he looks at me and goes, 'Good!' He throws me in, and then he just pounds my head, pounds my head, pounds my head, pounds my head. And then I come back, and he goes to me, 'Yeah, but you needed Jericho to win!' I said, 'The same way you needed a sledgehammer to win!' I mean, I didn't say it in a cocky way. I said it in a fun way, but the bottom line is that it's in the books. I beat Triple H," The Brooklyn Brawler said.

While it's anyone's guess if Brookly Brawler finds a place in the WWE Hall of Fame, there's no doubt his contributions would be remembered by fans.
