Giovanni started in WWE alongside Ludwig Kaiser and Gunther when they formed Imperium. For years, Vinci teamed up with Kaiser. However, that changed earlier this year when Kaiser turned his back on his tag team partner and attacked him.
Vinci wasn't seen on WWE TV until vignettes of him started appearing on SmackDown. This was the beginning of his singles career, which looked promising based on the videos WWE put out on the blue brand. However, his debut was anything but impressive.
