A 35-year-old WWE Superstar managed to capitalize on her opponent’s finisher this week to win a major match. While Chelsea Green was present ringside to help Piper Niven tonight, she was chased away mid-match, allowing Mia Yim to secure the win.
Michin, Piper Niven, and Lash Legend faced off in a Triple Threat match to advance to the semifinal of the WWE Women’s United States Championship tournament. The match mostly saw Legend and Niven making an impact, with Mia Yim closely following behind.
Chelsea Green attacked The Original Club member during the match, taking advantage of the no-disqualification rule. But, B-Fab entered the arena and saved Michin, who had defended her against Green’s disrespectful words a few weeks ago. B-Fab chased The Hot Mess out of the arena, leaving Piper Niven alone.
In the final moments of the match, Lash Legend knocked the Scotswoman out cold with her finisher, Lash Extension. However, The Meta Four member couldn’t capitalize on it as Mia Yim broke the pinfall immediately following up with a pin on Niven for the win.
With this, Mia Yim has now come a step closer to becoming the inaugural WWE Women’s United States Champion. It would be interesting to see who joins her, Bayley, and Chelsea Green as the fourth woman in the semifinal of the tourney.
