A popular 36-year-old star recently took to social media to express his desire to be John Cena's final WWE opponent in 2025. The star in question is TNA Wrestling's Joe Hendry.

During Money in the Bank this year, John Cena made a surprise return to make a heartbreaking announcement. During his promo, the 16-time World Champion revealed that he was going to retire at the end of 2025. He also mentioned that he would go on one last run inside the squared circle and would be available for almost all of the big shows next year. Since then, many people have been wondering who would be Cena's final opponent.

Wrestling News Co's official X/Twitter handle recently asked the same question to the fans. However, this post caught TNA Wrestling star Joe Hendry's attention and he uploaded a photo of himself, suggesting that he wanted to be John Cena's final WWE opponent.

Joe Hendry's wish might come true as WWE's relationship with TNA Wrestling is at an all-time high at the moment. Several big IMPACT Wrestling stars have wrestled in the Stamford-based promotion in 2024, including Hendry. It will be interesting to see if the 36-year-old will face John Cena in a first-time-ever match in 2025.

WWE analyst Peter Rosenberg wants John Cena to beat a top champion to break Ric Flair's record

During an edition of ZASLOW SHOW 2.0, WWE analyst Peter Rosenberg said that he wanted John Cena to win the Royal Rumble 2025 and go on to dethrone Gunther as the World Heavyweight Champion.

Rosenberg also highlighted that Cena might tie with Stone Cold Steve Austin for most Rumble wins and could also break Ric Flair's World Title record.

"I want him to beat Gunther at WrestleMania. I've had enough of him losing. I'd love for him to win the Rumble. It would be his third. I think that ties him with [Stone Cold Steve Austin] for most Rumble wins. Then he could go [break] Ric Flair's record. I would love it," he said.

It remains to be seen what the Triple H-led creative team has planned for John Cena's retirement tour in 2025.
