In the lead-up to Money in the Bank 2024, a 37-year-old star competed for the WWE Speed Championship. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful in his attempt to capture his first-ever singles title within the Stamford-based promotion, leaving him to question his ability to achieve individual glory.
The name being discussed here is Xavier Woods of The New Day. He is a 12-time Tag Team Champion (four-time RAW Tag Team Champion, seven-time SmackDown Champion, and one-time NXT Tag Team Champion) alongside Kofi Kingston and Big E, but the former King of the Ring has never won a singles title in the company.
RAW star Karrion Kross has been trying to convince the 37-year-old to part ways with The New Day so that he can win a singles championship. On this week's red brand episode, the former King Woods defeated The Doom Walker in a one-on-one match. However, the celebration was short-lived, as The Final Testament faction ambushed The New Day after the match.
Andrade, the reigning WWE Speed Champion, successfully defended his title against Xavier Woods before Money in the Bank 2024. Backstage, the 37-year-old star expressed his frustration at being unable to dethrone the former AEW star. The 12-time Tag Team Champion also hinted at a potential split from his longtime partners at The New Day.

"I talk a big game; I’ve been wrestling for 20 years and recently had my anniversary. I thought this was the one. This is when you start to think, 'Am I good enough to do this?' Yeah, I can be in a tag team—the most decorated tag team; Hall of Fame career, honestly. But as far as me by myself [sic], you start to think maybe you don’t got it," Woods said. [0:17 - 0:50]
