A former WWE champion recently addressed potentially returning for a Royal Rumble appearance. She disclosed that she would be open to the opportunity.
Kaitlyn joined the Stamford-based company in 2010. The 38-year-old spent about four years as an active competitor, during which she had one Divas Championship reign. However, she left the promotion and retired from professional wrestling in 2014. Four years later, the former Divas Champion came out of retirement to compete on the independent circuit. She also participated in the 2018 Mae Young Classic. Her last appearance on WWE TV came in 2019 in a backstage segment on the RAW Reunion episode.
In an interview with The A2theK Wrestling Show, Kaitlyn was asked whether she would be open to returning for a Royal Rumble appearance. She confirmed that she was:
"It depends. I'm always down to do something cool, you know. If it's like cool and fun and like makes sense, I'm always down for that. I had gone to a Royal Rumble a couple of years ago where there was like a possibility that I was gonna be in it and it ended up not unfolding but I'm like, I have a whole different life now but WWE is such a big part of who I am. So, I'm always down for stuff that makes sense. I'm always down that's really cool. And it just hasn't really unfolded that way yet. But yeah, I'm always open to opportunity for something to cross over or to make sense again. Always open for that," she said. [38:02 - 38:41]

Will Kaitlyn ever return to WWE?
The former Divas Champion last wrestled in December 2019 when she lost a GWA Women's Championship match against Nicolth Lucero in a Gangrel's Wrestling Asylum event. She has since stepped away from in-ring action again.
In an interview with MuscleManMalcolm in 2023, Kaitlyn revealed that she was not 100% against returning to the squared circle:
"I think with anything I am not 100% so against coming back like, 'Oh, I'm retired and that's it.' I'm always open to cool opportunities, cool collaborations, it's not really in my sight right now to pursue wrestling, but after so many years of being removed from it I certainly have a different appreciation for it," she said. It would be interesting to see if the 38-year-old former WWE Superstar would ever return to the Stamford-based company and whether she would be a surprise entrant in the 2025 Women's Royal Rumble.
