A former WWE Superstar recently expressed his desire to return to the Stamford-based company a decade after his release. He would also welcome an opportunity to work in AEW.

The wrestler in question is Ricardo Rodriguez. The 38-year-old joined the Stamford-based company in 2010 and spent nearly four years there before he was released from his contract in April 2014. Rodriguez mainly served as Alberto Del Rio's personal ring announcer during his stint in the promotion. While he has been an active competitor on the independent circuit since his departure, the former WWE Superstar made a one-off appearance as a Spanish color commentator on AEW.

During a recent appearance on Cafe de Rene, Rodriguez revealed that his goal is to return to WWE. Meanwhile, he pointed out that he would not turn down an opportunity to work for AEW as well:

"I've been very open about it before that my end goal is going back to WWE. If the opportunity ever presented itself to work for AEW again, I totally would. But my end goal has and always will be going back to WWE," he said. [From 07:58 to 08:11]

Ricardo Rodriguez had real-life heat with WWE CCO Triple H

On a previous episode of Cafe de Rene, Ricardo Rodriguez opened up about having real-life heat with current WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H. He disclosed that he was upset with The Game after the latter said that he looked like a bumblebee.

The 38-year-old pointed out that he did not take Triple H's comments well at the time and, therefore, took shots at The Game during the RF interview he did:

"I would love to go back to WWE so I'll be choosing my words. No, there was this time because I did and RF interview and in there I had said that there was a comment that Triple H had made once where he had... Because I mean I know I'm bigger. I know I'm a wider fella. I'm taller and I do the lucha stuff. So, I can jump around and I can fly around and he had made a comment that I look like a bumblebee and somewhere along the way he mentioned also Savio. So, he compared me to Savio. I didn't take it that well at the time. So that was pretty much what it was," he said.

With Triple H currently leading the Stamford-based company creatively, it would be intriguing to see if he would be interested in bringing Ricardo Rodriguez back.
