WWE recently made some cuts after entering a new era in professional wrestling. Several notable names departed from the promotion following a recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
A few years ago, Sanga signed with WWE and joined the developmental brand. He quickly aligned with Veer Mahaan and formed the Indus Sher. Later, Jinder Mahal joined the fray and the trio ended up getting drafted to Monday Night RAW in 2023.
Unfortunately, the trio was released from the Stamford-based promotion, along with Xyon Quinn and Xia Li. Today, Sanga uploaded a video on X/ Twitter and spoke about the release. He also added that the company has not signed any talents from India while they aim to get views from the country.
We have translated some of the lines from the video:
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
"When it comes to viewership, you want it from India. You want viewership on Facebook from India, the same goes for views on YouTube and television. But, when it comes to talent from India, you're not encouraging it [...] It's sad, but you need to understand that we come from a land with 1.4 billion people, and they like you and us, and they want talented athletes from their home country to be represented and work on an international level [...] It hurts when I hear this or think about it, but your company doesn't have any athletes from India."
Sanga seemed more upset about the lack of representation than his release. He assured the fans that Veer Mahaan and Jinder Mahaal are doing well following their release.
Veer Mahaan and Jinder Mahal also spoke about their release from WWE
Jinder Mahal had a great start to his 2024 in WWE. He went head-to-head against The Rock on the Day One edition of the red brand. Later, he had a short feud with Seth Rollins and ended up facing The Visionary for the World Heavyweight Championship in a losing effort.
It seemed like the tide had turned for Indus Sher. However, the duo ended up losing to the Awesome Truth heading into WrestleMania XL and vanished from weekly television. All three Indian WWE Superstars were released recently during SmackDown.
Veer Mahaan and Jinder Mahal later commented following their release from the company on social media. Veer tweeted that "when it comes to honor and respect of Indians, sacrifice comes first."
The former WWE Champion didn't say anything much as he tweeted:
It will be interesting to see what the trio does next and where they appear next in their respective wrestling careers.
