John Cena's next feud is a topic that sparks interest among the WWE Universe as he is nearing the end of his illustrious wrestling career. He disclosed following his WrestleMania XL appearance that he still has some "rubber left in the tank" but the truth is, if the right story comes along, Cena is self-admittedly ready to hang up his jorts. So the question is, who's next?
Karrion Kross appears to be pushing for it. He recently responded to a fan on X (formerly Twitter) that he can turn John Cena heel before the latter retires. Cena last appeared on the RAW after WrestleMania, where he tagged alongside World Tag Team Champions The Awesome Truth.
Both The Miz and R-Truth were seen using the 16-time World Champion's signature moves against The Authors of Pain on the latest episode of the red brand. During the bout, Karrion Kross stopped them from hitting a move made popular by Cena: the Five-Knuckle Shuffle. On X earlier today, The Doom Walker took a jibe at Cena's old 'Doctor of Thuganomics' gimmick:
"Basically Thuggery Economics 101," Karrion Kross wrote.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Kross has previously noted how fans were very invested in a feud between him and John Cena during the former NXT Champion's first stint with the company. However, his stock hit a low upon his second return to the Stamford-based promotion.
In 2024, The Doom Walker appears to have redeemed himself with a fresh take on his character and a new faction to boot. Whether his desire to face The Cenation Leader comes to fruition bears watching.
The Authors of Pain attempted to become World Tag Team Champions on WWE RAW
The Awesome Truth defended the World Tag Team Championship against The Authors of Pain this week on WWE RAW. Despite The Final Testament's repeated attempts at securing the win for their stablemates, the champions retained, thanks to a timely save by The New Day.
It seems Karrion Kross has found himself in the midst of a feud with The New Day, as he has made attempts of late to split Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods apart.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out next week on the red brand. The show will also feature fallout from WWE Clash at the Castle, which is scheduled to air live from Glasgow, Scotland, this Saturday.
