The WWE Tag Team Championship changed hands on Friday Night SmackDown last night. Following the show, Tommaso Ciampa, one-half of #DIY, shared his reaction on social media ahead of the SummerSlam Premium Live Event in Cleveland.
During the August 2, 2024, episode of the blue brand show, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa defended the WWE Tag Team Championship against Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga of The Bloodline.
In the closing moments of the contest, Tonga Loa distracted the referee, allowing Solo Sikoa to capitalize with a Samoan Spike on the 39-year-old star. The Samoan Werewolf then unleashed a brutal beatdown on Johnny Gargano and secured a massive victory and the WWE Tag Team Championship for The Bloodline.
Taking to Instagram, Tommaso Ciampa broke his silence after losing the prized gold and mentioned the number of days he held the tag title alongside the other half of #DIY.

Gargano and Ciampa captured the tag title by defeating A-Town Down Under (Grayson Waller and Austin Theory) on the go-home edition of SmackDown ahead of Money in the Bank 2024. The duo later retained the title against Waller and Theory on the July 12 episode of the Friday Night Show.
Tommaso Ciampa celebrates an iconic moment of his WWE career
The Blackheart won his first-ever singles championship in the Stamford-based promotion in July 2018 when he defeated Aleister Black to claim the NXT Title. However, the 39-year-old's 237-day reign ended abruptly in March 2019 when he was forced to vacate the title due to injury.
The SmackDown Superstar recently celebrated the sixth anniversary of his first NXT Championship victory on Instagram.
"Happy six-year anniversary 🖤,💛 Blackheart 🤝 Goldie 2018," he wrote.
It will be interesting to see if #DIY challenges Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu for the championship in the coming weeks.
