WWE Superstars are gearing up for the coming year, and Gunther could be on the cusp of losing his title to a major name. Recently, Disco Inferno discussed the possibility of Goldberg's final run and stated he could dethrone The Ring General and retire from in-ring competition.

Last month, Gunther poked the bear, who was enjoying Bad Blood as a fan in the crowd along with his family. This led to a verbal confrontation between the two heavyweights. Later, the former four-time world champion announced he would retire from in-ring competition following a match in the WWE in 2025.

Speaking on Keepin' It 100 OFFICIAL, Disco Inferno stated Goldberg has value and doesn't think the retirement would go in vain. He predicted a scenario where Gunther could lose the World Heavyweight Championship to Da Man, and the veteran could finally retire after getting a win of such caliber.

"Obviously, the point of him [Goldberg] vs. Gunther, which I think could be good verbal build-up for the battle, and then a compelling match-up. Especially, if Gunther still has the belt. I wonder if they would let Goldberg go over in his retirement and let him win the belt like for them to have to come back and have one more. I don't know. I think there's value in Goldberg for sure. 100%," Inferno said. [From 01:07 to 01:37]

Gunther suffered a loss at WWE Crown Jewel 2024

The confrontation with Goldberg seemingly hinted at a match with the veteran in the coming weeks. However, Triple H's WWE regime had other plans, as both world champions from RAW and SmackDown would go head-to-head in Saudi Arabia for the Crown Jewel Championship.

In the following weeks, Gunther taunted Cody Rhodes, and the two brawled on occasions. Later, the former Legacy reunited to face the Imperium on Friday Night SmackDown in a Tag Team Match. Randy Orton and Rhodes prevailed over Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser before the victors got blindsided by Kevin Owens and the World Heavyweight Champion.

The two champions finally clashed at the premium live event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 2, where Cody Rhodes pinned Gunther after a 23-minute high-caliber bout to become the inaugural WWE Crown Jewel Champion.

It'll be interesting to see how The Ring General bounces back with two significant singles losses in the same calendar year.
