John Cena is returning to WWE for one last run in 2025 before he retires. However, it appears there's one star who has not forgiven him for a previous wrong.
The Cenation Leader has always been one of the top stars in WWE during his career. While he's stepped away from regular performances in recent years and focused on acting, a decade ago, he was the top star at every event he participated in. Many stars fell victim to his dominance, and even some allies didn't get the best end of the bargain thanks to his dominance. One such star was Matt Cardona's former character, Zack Ryder.
Ryder was Cena's "friend" on-screen but found himself at the wrong end of things. He got injured, his on-screen girlfriend Eve Torres betrayed him and kissed Cena in front of him, and Kane made an example of him to tempt The Leader of the Cenation to turn heel, famously throwing him off the ramp in a wheelchair.
While he would win an Intercontinental title, two tag team titles, and the US title in WWE, he never really recovered.

A fan recently asked Cardona in an AMA if he had forgiven John Cena for the troubles he caused him back in 2012. Cardona replied that while his character, Ryder, had, Matt Cardona himself had not.
"Zack does. But Matt doesn't."
Matt Cardona could be a part of John Cena's retirement tour
Given that John Cena is returning to WWE for one last run before retiring at the end of 2025, there's a chance that several stars will come back to wrestle him one last time.
One such star is none other than Cardona. Matt is currently the best version of himself, and even after leaving WWE, he has managed to get himself over as one of, if not the, most popular stars outside the company.
Now, with him hinting that he has unfinished business with Cena, a return to face him on his retirement tour would not completely be out of the question, should he and WWE come to an agreement.
