WWE SummerSlam 2024 was headlined by Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa for the Undisputed WWE Championship in a Bloodline Rules match. What Sikoa assumed would be his career-defining moment ended up being the first major loss the new Bloodline suffered as a unit since they came together in the last few months.
Despite a chaotic sequence of events during the bout, from Randy Orton and Kevin Owens fending off Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa to Jacob Fatu obliterating The American Nightmare, Rhodes prevailed. And he did so thanks to Roman Reigns, who made his much-anticipated return in the closing moments of the show and inadvertently assisted the champion.
Tama Tonga took to Instagram, sharing a picture of Solo Sikoa's Bloodline. It appears they are looking to make a comeback in full force this Friday, as the 'Original Tribal Chief' Roman Reigns will officially make his first appearance on SmackDown since the Road To WrestleMania.

Unfortunately for Jacob Fatu, as he hit a splash onto Cody Rhodes on the commentator's table, it looked as though he suffered a legitimate injury. After the nasty landing, he did not get up and was seen moving to the side.
Cody Rhodes comments on Roman Reigns' comeback at WWE SummerSlam
After Roman Reigns sprinted to the ring and hit Solo Sikoa with a Superman Punch and a Spear, he addressed the elephant in the room. There lying was Cody Rhodes, the man who beat him at WWE WrestleMania XL in April. Reigns simply nodded at The American Nightmare before rolling out of the ring and slowly walking away. He repeatedly looked back in the ring.
During the post-show press conference, Rhodes clarified that Reigns is not his friend and everything that transpired in the main event was the result of issues between the heel faction:
"I know I'm not his friend. He did not do that for me, but because of what is happening with The Bloodline and Solo. That is something to stay tuned for, probably on SmackDown in the sense of what happens with The Bloodline. The Bloodline has been the anchor of WWE for some time, and what happens next, not just with Solo and not just with Roman but Jacob Fatu, who is, as all we can see, is something unbelievable," Rhodes said.
How Roman Reigns' return to SmackDown factors into the blue brand's hierarchy bears watching, as it appears his possible feud with Solo Sikoa could be a heavily featured one in the coming months. As for Cody Rhodes, his next challenger is unclear.
