WWE under Triple H's leadership has felt different and fresh after a long time. Meanwhile, former AEW and current NXT star Shawn Spears detailed how he immediately reached out to The Game for a second run in the promotion.
In 2019, Shawn Spears joined All Elite Wrestling after he was released from the Stamford-based promotion. However, The Chairman's run didn't go as planned, and the 43-year-old star wasn't used to his full extent before he parted ways with AEW in 2023.
In an interview on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, the 43-year-old star detailed how he immediately got in touch with Triple H for a second run with the Stamford-based promotion. The star also added The Game heard him out and allowed him to work with Shawn Michaels.
"I immediately reached out to Hunter and just said, I am paraphrasing. I can't remember exactly what I said; just I'm free if there's interest the ball's in your court kind of thing. He just says, What do you want to do? I said, I want to contribute. And he said, Okay, let me see what can happen. Then not long after that, I was in touch, and when this presented itself [work with Shawn Michaels], the chance to come back here [NXT]," Spears said. [H/T: CVV]

What's Shawn Spears doing on NXT after returning to WWE under Triple H's regime?
Earlier this year, Shawn Spears returned to WWE under Triple H's regime. However, the 43-year-old star went to the developmental brand under Shawn Michaels' creative leadership.
The Chairman's return came as a shock, and he immediately feuded with Ridge Holland. Later, he was inserted into the title scene as he scored a win over NXT Champion Trick Williams.
The Chairman's assist at WWE NXT Heatwave allowed Ethan Page to win the title from Trick Williams without pinning the champion. Lately, he's working with Brooks Jensen on the brand.
Last month, the second-generation WWE star acknowledged Spears as his mentor. It'll be interesting to see if the two stars become a unit or if The Chairman will recruit further to create his own stable.
