An ex-WWE star has revealed that she was in dire need of money at one point during her career. When the Stamford-based promotion offered her the role of a Rosebud, she couldn't refuse.
Shelly Martinez once worked as Adam Rose's Rosebud at a live event. She also had a brief stint in World Wrestling Entertainment back in the mid-to-late 2000s.
In a new interview on Ring The Belle, Shelly Martinez confessed that she once needed money and couldn't pass up the opportunity when WWE offered her the role of a Rosebud.

Former WWE writer buries Judgment Day HERE
"Yeah. I've been retired because after the TNA thing didn't work, I went and continued in the Indies, and that's when I was just like, 'Dude, if I'm going to do this, it has to be worth the money, and the only way it's going to be worth the money is if I go back to WWE.' So, I thought long and hard if that's what I wanted to do. I actually got booked as a Rosebud. I don't know if it was a little slap to my face or what they were trying to do, but I needed the money 'cause I was a brokea*s bit*h." [28:43-29:14]
Late WWE star Bray Wyatt once "marked out" for Shelly Martinez
In the same interview, Shelly Martinez opened up about meeting the late Bray Wyatt backstage during her time as a Rosebud. Wyatt was incredibly happy upon meeting her. Here's what she said about the conversation she had with him:
"He was like, 'You know they've thrown your name around about being Sister Abigail?' He's like, 'I'm a big fan of what you and Kevin used to do,' and he started marking out for me, and I was like, 'You're marking out for me!' So, I was like, 'Woah, that's crazy.'"
One wonders where Martinez would be today if she had bagged the role of Sister Abigail back in the day. She received a lot of praise from many fans for her work as Ariel during her ECW run in 2006-07.
