A female WWE legend who has been in the wrestling industry for three decades recently announced her retirement in her home country of Japan. She has now taken to social media to share her thoughts after her latest match.

The name being discussed here is Meiko Satomura. She officially signed with World Wrestling Entertainment in 2021 and later went on to win the NXT UK Women's Championship.

The Japanese legend was also in the mix for the NXT Women's Title which saw her challenge Roxanne Perez last year. However, The Prodigy successfully retained her championship against Satomura.

During a recent press conference, Satomura officially announced her retirement and revealed that she will step away from wrestling in April 2025. The former NXT UK Women's Champion also confirmed her participation in several Sendai Girls matches beginning this September.

Later, Meiko Satomura went head-to-head against Bayley for the Women's Championship at the SuperShow live event at Ryogoku Arena on July 27. The Role Model described the match as "WrestleMania-level" and ultimately defeated the legendary figure to retain her title.

Following the match, the 44-year-old female legend broke her silence, thanking Bayley and fans. Satomura wrote:

"Thank you @itsBayleyWWE Thank you for WWE UNIVERSE 🔥 She was so strong and amazing I can't put it into words..."

Meiko Satomura teamed with top WWE Superstars to defeat Damage CTRL and Tiffany Stratton

Superstars from RAW and SmackDown made a visit to Japan this week for the SuperShow Summer Tour. During the tour, the former NXT UK Women's Champion competed in back-to-back eight-woman tag team matches.

On July 25th and 26th, Meiko Satomura teamed up with Bayley, the former WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair, and Jade Cargill to defeat Damage CTRL (IYO SKY, Dakota Kai, and Kairi Sane) and Tiffany Stratton in house shows held in Osaka and Tokyo, respectively.

It will be exciting to see if the Japanese legend can have another run in World Wrestling Entertainment before she officially hangs her boots.
