Several legendary names have appeared in WWE Royal Rumble matches over the years. In a recent interview, former WCW star Alex Wright addressed whether he would be interested in entering the 30-man match.
Wright is best known for his work in WCW between 1994 and 2001. The 49-year-old won the WCW Cruiserweight and World Television Championships with the company. He also held the tag titles alongside Disco Inferno.
Jack Farmer of The Wrestling Chatter asked Wright about possibly appearing in his first Royal Rumble match. The German confirmed he is open to offers if WWE ever contacts him:
"Just open a petition!" Wright said. "Or just call WWE. No, I'm open for everything. I mean, I still do a lot of training matches. I could have matches, but the offer must be a good offer." [38:21 – 38:38]

Alex Wright on the difference between WCW and WWE's training methods
In the 1990s, WCW's future stars honed their skills under the guidance of DeWayne Bruce, aka Sarge, at the Power Plant in Atlanta, Georgia.
Alex Wright has guest-coached at WWE's Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, and believes the facility is perfect for up-and-coming talents:
"Of course, you can't compare the Power Plant to the Performance Center because it was 20 years earlier and they didn't invest that much in the future talents. They did not. Either you had a talent and you make it or not. And here [at the Performance Center], you have a great facility with great coaches, seven rings, you analyze the matches on TV. It's the perfect place to learn wrestling." [10:49 – 11:27]
Wright's last televised match in the United States aired on March 14, 2001, when he lost to Jason Jett on WCW Thunder. After retiring, he opened a wrestling school in Germany.
