A WWE Hall of Famer has not stepped between the ropes for an in-ring match in over two years. Now, two-time Universal Champion Goldberg addressed the question of whether he has officially retired from wrestling.
Da Man had his final match against Roman Reigns at the Elimination Chamber 2022 in Saudi Arabia. The Big Dog secured a massive win over the 57-year-old legend before the latter's contract with the global juggernaut expired.
Many assumed that Bill Goldberg had retired after his last match in WWE, but that's not the case. In an interview with Chris Van Vliet on INSIGHT, the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion clarified that he doesn't consider himself retired from wrestling or any other professional endeavors.
"When you have been a wrestler at some point in your life, I don't think you're retired until you're dead. But I mean, I don't know, I was kind of forced into retirement a little bit. I don't like to think that I'm retired in any respect, whether it's from working or wrestling or anything else," he said. (H/T CVV)
Goldberg further stated that he is currently focused on preparing his son Gage for his future professional life. The 57-year-old WWE veteran added:
"I've kind of been hiding out here on the ranch for the past four or five years, investing 100% of my time, effort and emotion into our son Gage and trying to prepare him for his journey off to college because it's such a transitional time in a kid's life." (H/T CVV)

Goldberg reflects on his match against WWE Superstar Roman Reigns
As mentioned earlier, the former WCW World Champion squared off against Roman Reigns in his last in-ring competition. Bill Goldberg has now expressed his disappointment over his contest against The Big Dog.
During the same chat with Chris Van Vliet, the WWE Hall of Famer admitted to making a mistake when he agreed to face Roman Reigns. Despite being under contract with COVID-19, Goldberg accepted the match at Vince McMahon's request.
"I'll never forget the phone call I got when I was in bed. I couldn't even breathe, and I felt like a**. I couldn't even get up. [Vince says], 'You can make Saudi in three weeks?' 'Sure, I'll be there! You promise me a match after that.' [Vince said], 'Sure!' I should have done better. That's my fault," he said. (H/T CVV)
Since the former WWE Universal Champion has clearly stated that he has yet to hang up his boots, it will be exciting to see where he steps next for a wrestling match.
