62-year-old WWE veteran gushes about Maryse's natural beauty, wants a long-awaited "reset" for Miz and his partner (Exclusive)

While the top guys take away all the limelight, The Miz has quietly been one of WWE's most dependable performers, and Vince Russo felt The A-Lister and his wife needed a character reset.

The Miz competed in a triple threat match on RAW this week in the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament. The former WWE Champion performed well but was on the losing end as Finn Balor won the match, which also featured Cody Rhodes.

During the latest episode of Legion of RAW, Vince Russo and Dr. Chris Featherstone were asked whether Endeavor should fire or retain Miz and Maryse moving forward.

Russo began by waxing lyrical about the stunning Maryse before explaining why the WWE's "It Couple" could be even more significant assets for the company if they were pushed as babyfaces.

The 62-year-old noted that Miz and Maryse were likable beyond their kayfabe personas and urged WWE to let them be themselves, similar to how they were on their reality show.

"They can be reset. First of all, Maryse is, and I've said this all the time, she is a naturally beautiful woman. Facial, she is a stunning woman. Here is the problem, they have their Miz and Mrs, and they are babyfaces. They are likable people. So, why are they heels on the show? Does that make any sense to anybody?" [23:42-24:10]

Vince Russo didn't see the benefits of altering The Miz and Maryse's gimmicks for the pro wrestling audience and wished they give up their heelish ways.

"We're watching Miz and Mrs, and they are likable, and they're parents and we got kids, and we got mothers-in-laws, and we get into that whole aspect, and then all of a sudden, on the TV show, they are two completely different people." [24:10-24:24]

Vince Russo says WWE should capitalize on The Miz and Maryse's experience

Mike Mizanin was not welcomed in the locker room due to his reality TV background when he kicked off his WWE career in the mid-2000s.

He has had to earn not just the respect of his peers but also the fans, putting together a long and successful career.

Keeping in mind the superstar's experience, Vince Russo advocated for a "complete reset" and believed Miz and Maryse were thus far cast in the wrong roles:

"Why would you do that, bro? Does that make any sense to anybody? Why would you do that? So, if it were me, I would 1000% completely reset them; they know what they're doing. They are pros. They've got over a decade of experience on television. They are in the wrong roles, bro." [24:25-24:48]

The 42-year-old is far from being done as an active pro wrestler, and the promotion has also trusted him whenever they need to make a newer talent look good on TV.
