Chelsea Green is in the running to become the first Women's United States Champion. Many people are endorsing her and she has now received another major endorsement from a 74-year-old wrestling legend.
On the latest episode of Smack Talk, hosts Sid Pullar III and Rick Ucchino spoke to wrestling legend Dutch Mantel about the Women's US Title. Mantel views the title as a great decision by WWE on the condition that they deliver through compelling storylines. He believes that they have all the talent in the world to make it a meaningful title.
After SP3 and Rick Ucchino discussed what direction the title should go in first, Dutch Mantel stated that he wants to see Chelsea Green become the inaugural Women's United States Champion. He believes she's the most entertaining superstar on the women's roster:
"You know who I think would be the perfect person to put it on? Chelsea Green. I love her because she has that personality and no matter what she plays, she can be the bi****n', moaning Champion who says, 'I'm the best in the world.' But after she opens her mouth you go 'shut the hell up' and you want somebody to shut her mouth. Even when she gets beaten, she's entertaining as hell. She's the most entertaining girl they got there. She's her and that's her personality coming through. She's that way in real life anyway, a very nice person, but when she gets on air, she knows what to do with you. I would put it on her and see what they can do with her." (6:37-7:37)

Rick Ucchino responded by saying that he thinks Green will make a perfect second Champion. He wants to see an established (babyface) name hold the title first until WrestleMania 41, setting Green up for her big moment.

Chelsea Green reacted to Cathy Kelley's endorsement of her for the US Title.
In a recent podcast, Cathy Kelley said that she picked Chelsea Green to become the first Women's United States Champion because the latter would be upset if she chose anybody else.
Green reacted by saying, "And @catherinekelley was correct." Unsurprisingly, she also predicted herself to become the first Women's US Champion. She is set to take on Blair Davenport and Bianca Belair in the first round of the tournament. The winner will face Bayley, one of the most accomplished women in WWE history.
Surprisingly, Bayley admitted that the Women's United States Title isn't necessarily her main focus. While she praised the idea of a secondary Women's title, she also believes that more work needs to be done to elevate the Women's Tag Team Championships.
