WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle had his final wrestling run in the Stamford-based promotion and hasn't returned to in-ring competition since WrestleMania 35. Today, the multi-time World Champion expressed his disappointment in Baron Corbin's use in the company by the management.
Kurt Angle has been open about his final run with the Stamford-based promotion under Vince McMahon's creative leadership. The former World Champion hasn't shied away from giving his opinion that the Olympic Gold medalist could've been used well in his final run.
Speaking on Busted Open, the former six-time WWE World Champion expressed his disappointment in the company's use of the former United States and NXT Tag Team Champion. The veteran stated The Lone Wolf could've been a future World Champion had the management made better use of the star following their feud.
"Baron's [Corbin] really talented. I see a lot of potential in him. I was really disappointed with what WWE did with him. I mean, they pushed him at first and they had him beat me at WrestleMania [35] for my retirement match, which is fine. I was okay with that. Afterward, they had him win the King of the Ring tournament, and he kinda fell off. He fell off the radar. And he never really made it back, at least not to the extent that he should've been. I mean, when you win King of the Ring, you're going to be a future World Champion, and that did not happen for Baron. I was really disappointed," Angle said. [From 12:20 to 12:59]
