WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland (fka Edge) has commented on whether he spoke to John Cena about his retirement tour. The AEW star knows what it's like to hang up your wrestling boots after a successful career.
The Rated-R Superstar and the 16-time world champion know each other very well, as they were arch-enemies in WWE. Edge won his first world title by dethroning The Cenation Leader in 2006 after cashing in his Money in the Bank contract. They have had countless matches against each other during their prime.
Speaking to ScreenRant in a recent interview, Edge was asked whether he spoke to John Cena about retiring since he's been there before and about his upcoming farewell tour. He stated:
"No, but we had talked briefly when he came back there, and I was with WWE, and he said, 'How are you doing this, man? You're having half an hour matches and stuff.' We haven't talked about retiring or anything like that. John is a very... He's thought this through. He's thought of every scenario and every conceivable direction and all of those things. He's an intelligent man, so, I'm sure he has already come to terms and I think he's been coming to terms with it for a long time. I think it'll be harder for the fan base to come to terms, which usually ends up being the case," said Edge. [5:16 - 5:57]

John Cena will be on WWE RAW next week to kick off his farewell tour
WWE fans around the world will see The Greatest Of All Time compete in his final match this year. He's been advertised for RAW next week on Netflix and will compete in the Men's Royal Rumble match next month. If he wins the 30-man bout, he'd get a world title match at WrestleMania, which means he'll have the opportunity to break the record.
John Cena will also appear at other premium live events through 2025 and his last match will take place in December. Many superstars have expressed interest in facing him, including CM Punk, his former rival. It'll be interesting to see who John Cena's final opponent will be.
