Adam Pearce recently took to X/Twitter to mourn the death of an indie wrestling veteran, whose unexpected passing has stunned the industry. Liger Rivera, well-known for his time in NWA, passed away at age 37 due to undisclosed reasons.
Rivera was a veteran of the business, who had a nearly two-decade run in the industry. He had a six-year tenure with the famed National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) from 2006-2012, apart from competing in several other promotions. Liger Rivera had wrestled only sporadically since the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020.
A few hours back, Empire Wrestling Federation, a company Rivera had been associated with for a long time, shared the news of his passing. Several fans came forward to react to the unfortunate news, including Adam Pearce.

The RAW GM, who himself wrestled on the indie circuit for a long time, shared a picture of Liger Rivera and wrote how he enjoyed sharing a locker room with him.
"Godspeed, Liger Rivera. Always pleasure to share a locker room with. Rest well, sir," wrote Pearce.
We at Sportskeeda Wrestling extend our condolences to Liger Rivera's family and friends in their moment of grief.
Adam Pearce is open to wrestling in WWE
A few weeks back, Pearce was quizzed about potentially lacing up his wrestling boots in WWE for the first time in more than 3 years. The RAW GM stated that while he was open to stepping inside the ring for a one-off match if the company needed him to, he was more than happy with his current authority role on TV.
"Listen, if the time comes and they say, 'Hey, we need you to have a match.' Brother, I will get my hands dirty. I got my hands dirty last night with Bronson Reed a little bit, you know what I mean? I am certainly capable, but am I looking to do that, particularly on a full-time basis? Hell no! I'm good. I'm good just telling people it is official," he said.
Adam Pearce quit full-time wrestling way back in 2014 and it remains to be seen if he ever decides to come out of retirement in WWE.
