RAW on Netflix proved it's the land of opportunity as WWE crowned its first-ever Women's Intercontinental Champion last night. Adam Pearce sent a message to Lyra Valkyria following her triumphant win this week.
The Irishwoman has worked her way up since being moved to the main roster. Lyra Valkyria made her RAW in-ring debut against Dakota Kai last May.
During the second episode of RAW on Netflix, the two women crossed paths once again, but this time, they were in the finals of the Women's Intercontinental Championship tournament.
Valkyria defeated Kai in an intense back-and-forth contest to become the first-ever Women's Intercontinental Champion. After the match, the Damage CTRL member showed great sportsmanship by raising her opponent's hand and hugging her.
Adam Pearce also posted on his Instagram account to congratulate Lyra Valkyria on winning her first title on the main roster.
"Honored to witness history firsthand tonight in San Jose. Congratulations to the very first Women’s Intercontinental Champion, @real_valkyria!" he wrote.

With the WWE Royal Rumble fast approaching, it will be interesting to see who will step up to challenge Lyra Valkyria. Could her fellow Irishwoman Becky Lynch return to set up a student-mentor feud? Only time will tell.
