Drew McIntyre recently got the wrestling world talking after storming out of a live interview at a non-WWE event. Legendary commentator Jim Ross watched the footage and is willing to help The Scottish Warrior if he needs support.

McIntyre discussed his career on Busted Open with host Dave LaGreca and wrestling legends Bully Ray, Mark Henry, and Tommy Dreamer. At one stage, the former WWE Champion said he could "count on one finger" how many co-workers contacted him during his two-month absence. He then criticized wrestling fans before walking off set.

On his Grilling JR podcast, Ross admitted he is unsure whether McIntyre was genuinely annoyed or whether he spoke in character to create a buzz. The AEW announcer added that he is available if the WrestleMania 36 main-eventer wants to talk:

"A lot of the guys that I signed, a lot of the guys that I worked with, I feel that way," Ross stated. "It's not an AEW-WWE relationship. It's JR being friends with some talents and he always valued my opinion. I just wanted to let him know that there's somebody out here that doesn't have a dog in the hunt, that you just want to shoot the breeze, talk, I'm available." [28:47 – 29:12]

During the appearance, Drew McIntyre also said the word "family" is overused in the wrestling business. He claimed wrestlers refer to each other as "family" but only as a "matter of convenience" when they want something.

Jim Ross hopes Drew McIntyre becomes more positive

Since returning to the main roster in 2018, Drew McIntyre has been one of WWE's most prominent stars. He won his first WWE Championship in 2020 and has gone on to become a three-time world champion.

As a former WWE talent relations executive, Jim Ross thinks he could offer some words of wisdom to help change McIntyre's mindset:

"Maybe I could help him. Maybe I could help him become more positive and less angry. You sure as hell don't want to be angry and stressed out in this business. It just doesn't work. It's a fait accompli. You're planning your demise if you do that, and he's got too much talent to let that thing ride." [29:14 – 29:39]

On December 14, McIntyre defeated Sami Zayn at Saturday Night's Main Event in his first match since losing to CM Punk at Bad Blood.
