After vicious attack, 33-year-old WWE Superstar hints at imminent heel turn

WWE is seeing a lot of aggression from several of its wrestlers who target their opponents and try to injure them. A similar instance of this display of domination was witnessed by fans on the July 15, 2024 episode of Monday Night RAW. Notably, a popular faction tried to viciously attack a 33-year-old fighter and badly injured her right arm.

Zelina Vega faced the freshly returned Sonya Deville in a singles match on RAW. The new returnee didn’t shy away from utilizing her teammates Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler to gain an advantage in the match. However, the trio went overboard and continued their assault post-match as well. WWE uploaded a video of Vega being escorted by referees backstage after the brutal attack on Instagram.

Several fans poured in with their comments and wrote how Vega is being needlessly buried by the management and that she deserves more. Interestingly, the Queen’s Crown Tournament victor agreed with the opinions of the fans and added a comment on the post.

Zelina Vega carefully chose her words in the comment and this could be a message from her foreshadowing a potential heel turn. The LWO member has been working hard but hasn’t been getting any big breaks from the Stamford-based promotion.

Thus, there is a chance that she follows the path of Bron Breakker and takes what she deserves on her own. Interestingly, Vega also has an additional motive to embark on a villainous route to realize one of her goals.

Zelina Vega paid a hearty tribute to her late father last week via a special post on Instagram. The Mexican-origin pro wrestler uploaded an image of one of her action figures along with an award and wrote a message for her departed dad.

“The championship is the next thing I bring you, Dad,” wrote Vega.

The LWO member displayed her resolve to get her hands on a singles WWE championship with this post. However, things haven’t been going her way. She almost clinched the WWE Women’s title from Liv Morgan but lost due to interference by Dominik Mysterio. Now, Rhea Ripley has returned to the company and several rumors hint that Charlotte Flair may recover soon as well.

Thus, Zelina Vega will be forced to fight for her space to earn the prestigious title. It would be interesting to see Vega turn into a heel and work in a faction of babyfaces to achieve her goals.
