AJ Lee shares message as her popular wrestling series debuts on Netflix

AJ Lee sent a message on social media today hyping her popular series' debut on Netflix ahead of this Monday's edition of WWE RAW. Lee is married to popular RAW star CM Punk in real life.

CM Punk and AJ Lee both appeared on the popular television series Heels, which originally aired on the STARZ Network. The series has two seasons, and CM Punk portrayed fictional wrestler Ricky Rabies in the show. AJ Lee was cast as Elle Dorado in the series and took to her Instagram story today to hype up the show debuting on Netflix today. Lee has not competed in a match since the March 30, 2015, episode of WWE RAW. She teamed up with former WWE star Paige, now known as Saraya in All Elite Wrestling, to defeat The Bella Twins in a tag team match.

Former WWE star comments on AJ Lee potentially returning to the company someday

EC3 recently discussed AJ Lee potentially returning to WWE in the future and noted that she doesn't have anything else to prove in the ring.

Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws show, the former NWA Worlds Champion noted that Lee has interests outside professional wrestling and doesn't need to return to the ring at all. However, he added that if she wanted to wrestle again, it would be something that fans would be excited about.

"I didn't know she was involved in all that. It sounds super cool. I mean, she doesn't need to come back. There's no need. It would only be a want. If she wants to, I'm sure the door is open for the duration she'd want, but at the same time if she's totally fulfilled conquering something new, kudos to her. That's awesome." [8:27 – 8:47]

Drew McIntyre and CM Punk have been involved in a personal rivalry since the Men's Royal Rumble match in January. The Scottish Warrior stole a bracelet with Lee's name on it from CM Punk and recently destroyed it during a brutal attack on the 45-year-old on RAW.
