AJ Styles recently made a huge admission that is sure to disappoint his legion of fans in WWE. The Phenomenal One has seemingly confirmed that he might never step inside the ring in Japan again after his recent match in the country.

It's no secret that the Stamford-based promotion has been building healthy relationships with several companies across the globe. One of them is NOAH. As part of its association with the promotion, WWE sent AJ Styles to compete at their Destination 2024 event, where he defeated the great Naomichi Marufiji.

If that wasn't enough, during WWE's recent visit to Japan, where they had a slew of Live Events, Styles laced up his boots on three nights consecutively. The promotion recently uploaded a video of wrestlers sharing their experience of competing in the country, which also featured The Phenomenal One. During it, AJ Styles all but confirmed that he might have wrestled for the last time in Japan.

“If you don’t know already, when I’m in Japan, ever since I was with the Bullet Club, I had a mask made for the big shows of the year, and now it’s tradition that I have a mask when I walk out (in Japan). This possibly could be the last one you see on AJ Styles, so let’s get it," said Styles. (H/T WrestleTalk)

The former WWE Champion hasn't appeared on TV since his memorable I Quit match against Cody Rhodes at Clash at the Castle 2024, where he fell short.

Ron Simmons is a fan of AJ Styles

A few weeks back in an exclusive chat with Sportskeeda Wrestling's own Bill Apter, Ron Simmons explained what makes Styles stand out from others. The wrestling legend stated that The Phenomenal One was one of the rare athletes who had the ability to balance old-school wrestling with modern sensibilities and techniques.

"I'm old school, that'll never get out of me, so I love old style. I love everything about the nostalgia of wrestling, what I came up being a part of. So, you know, I like to see guys mix a little bit of the new with old. I like to watch AJ Styles wrestle, you know what I mean?"

It remains to be seen what WWE has in store for Styles as fans have been waiting with bated breath to see him back on the Friday Night Show.
