AJ Styles' time in WWE may be over after Clash at the Castle, according to a veteran. The star battled Cody Rhodes at the event and was left shouting that he was ready to quit in the "I Quit" match.

The former WWE Champion was furious with Rhodes after he lost his earlier match against the star and decided to trick him using what he had. He pretended that he was going to retire and spoke about not having enough time in his career to go to the back of the line. He lured in Rhodes and attacked him when he let his guard down, even hitting him with a Styles Clash from the top of the steel steps on the outside.

At Clash at the Castle, an irate Rhodes was ready to take revenge against AJ Styles and brought another level of violence. Unfortunately for Styles, this meant he took a rough beating. With Styles using handcuffs and doing whatever else he could to make Rhodes quit, at the end of the day, it was Cody who used the weapons his opponent brought in.

He threatened him with the steel steps while the star was handcuffed and this resulted in him having to finally quit.

During the beatdown by Rhodes, Wade Barrett commented on the situation saying that AJ Styles may not have a choice but to retire and bring his career to an end after the match.

"AJ may have no choice but to retire after this beatdown."

Fans noted the comment too, even if not all of them agreed.

Cody Rhodes may already have an opponent after AJ Styles

Now that he has beaten AJ Styles, Rhodes may already have his next opponent lined up. When heading backstage after his win, he was confronted by Solo Sikoa.

He was then attacked by the rest of The Bloodline and given that he had already wrestled in a match, things could have turned very ugly, had it not been for Randy Orton and Kevin Owens running interference.
