Former WWE superstar Alberto Del Rio was recently spotted in San Antonio, Texas for his new restaurant’s promotion. There, he was interviewed by KENS 5, and he spoke about various issues about his life like his fallout with the WWE, his girlfriend Paige’s possible return to the ring and him being on Total Divas.
When asked about his Wrestlemania moment as a member of the League of Nations along with Mick Foley, Shawn Micheals and Stone Cold Steve Austin, he said,
“It was fantastic, I had really good moments with that company, and that moment was one of them. It was amazing to share the ring with guys, those legends, Shawn Micheals, Steve Austin. We had a lot of fun.”
Next, he got to talking about how he has his career in his own hands after leaving the WWE. He told KENS 5,
“That was one of the main reasons I decided to leave that company, it was my decision not to work for WWE. I’m always gonna be grateful with that company because they put me out there, they gave me a name, they gave me an opportunity to show my talent to the world. And because of that, I am always going to be grateful, but it was time for me to just enjoy my family, start new projects like this one (the restaurant), I’m the President of Combate Americas which is the first American-Hispanic MMA company in history.
We’re doing great things out there, we working with our business partners in Mexico and they’re helping us to make this company something spectacular. I’m doing a lot of great projects that I could not have done in WWE, but now I’m doing them and I’m just happy I get to see my kids everyday and that makes me the happiest man in the world,” he added.
The ex-WWE Superstar also opened up about him being a part of the Total Divas for promotional purposes. He talked about how he was excited that he was putting his life out there for the whole world to see.
He also talked about people only being able to see a glance of him for about 4-5 seconds, since his voice and image cannot be used without his prior consent.
Lastly, he spoke about his girlfriend Paige, who had undergone surgery just three weeks ago, leading to speculations about her return to the ring. Del Rio, however, silenced all those rumours, stating that Paige was not going to let go of her professional wrestling career anytime soon and that she is in her recovery mode from the surgery, doing all that she has to, to get back into the ring.
