WWE News: American Alpha wants Lionel Messi to be part of their team

American Alpha and Carmella went to Camp Nou on their latest tour of Barcelona

American Alpha and The Princess Of Staten Island were in Barcelona for a live event of the European Smackdown tour. While at the City Of Counts, the 3 visited the city’s most famous football club, F.C Barcelona. While there, they extended an invitation to bring in Barcelona’s most famous player – Lionel Messi.

Given that former German Goalkeeper Tim Wiese has joined WWE and recently debuted in Frankfurt, perhaps the living legend Messi would consider a possible entry into the Squared Circle himself. It is even more secure now knowing that he has allies in the former NXT Tag Team Champions American Alpha.

They told Messi that they were “open to six-man tags”, telling him that they’d teach him to throw and suplex while the Five-time Ballon d'Or winner could teach them to kick!

Smackdown Live will be going to Madrid and Bilbao before going back to the United States.

Lionel Messi would be the second football player after Tim Wiese to join WWE if he ever did. While Tim Wiese is tall, bulky and is being promoted as “The Machine”, Lionel Messi is 5’7”, and has an underdog look to him, much like Smackdown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan.

While Messi has his sights set on helping Argentina qualify for the FIFA World Cup in less than two years time and also helping out F.C Barcelona, American Alpha have Survivor Series to look forward to next.

The former NXT Tag Team Champions are teaming up with Heath Slater & Rhyno, Breezango, The Hype Bros, and arch rivals The Usos to represent the blue brand at Survivor Series. American Alpha beat The Spirit Squad to qualify for the Survivor Series team:

Perhaps after Survivor Series, they can set their sights on The Usos, who they never managed to get their revenge against. It won’t be long before we see them in the Smackdown Tag Team Championship picture as well.
