"And not 1 clean win" - WWE fans furiously dispute statistic about Roman Reigns' title run

Roman Reigns is the WWE World Champion for over 900+ days.
Roman Reigns has been Universal Champion for almost 1,000 days!

Wrestling fans have lost their minds over debatable statistics about Roman Reigns' title run ahead of WWE Night Of Champions.

In 2020, Reigns' made a shocking return to the Stamford-based promotion, and within one week, he aligned with Paul Heyman to become the new Universal Champion at WWE Payback 2020.

At Payback, he won the Universal title in a triple-threat match against Bray "The Fiend" Wyatt and Braun Strowman. There was no stopping for Roman Reigns after the premium live event as he started creating supremacy as a champion.

The Tribal Chief has successfully defended his treasured championship against the finest in the business, including legends like John Cena and Brock Lesnar, and even individually against the current Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

Reigns retained his championship in three straight WrestleMania main events, whether it was an emotional in-ring comeback from retirement, a tremendous Champion vs. Champion confrontation, or a Royal Rumble Match winner wanting to finish his story.

One fascinating thing about his current run is since Reigns emerged victorious at Payback 2020, there have been 67 title changes overall apart from him as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

The following statistics have created a fuss on the internet as WWE fans heatedly slammed the company and The Tribal Chief.

A few fans shared that Reigns has not won a single title cleanly during his heel-turned Tribal Chief stint, as he had help from his Bloodline members.

Meanwhile, other fans noted that WWE did not count the 24/7 title changes because it suits them.

A fan also pointed out that other titles have changed hands more times than Roman has defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

After WWE Night of Champions, Roman Reigns could rekindle his historic feud with Sami Zayn

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, if Zayn pins Reigns at Night of Champions, he may restart his feud with The Tribal Chief.

The forthcoming encounter will be a tag team match, with Roman Reigns joining up with his cousin Solo Sikoa to take on Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

Sami Zayn eventually received an opportunity at the WWE Universal title when he fought Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber in Montreal after an incredible storyline involving The Bloodline. However, the former Honorary Uce was unable to beat The Tribal Chief.

Here is what Dave Meltzer said:

"If Owens & Zayn win, and Reigns is the one pinned, it would set up the guy, Zayn, more likely, to get another title match. Although Reigns vs. Zayn peaked in February, its business numbers were spectacular, and it was a screw-job ending."

On the day of WWE Night Of Champions, Roman Reigns will commemorate his astounding milestone of 1,000 days as champion. It remains to be seen who will be the next to step up and challenge The Tribal Chief.
