WWE Superstar Andrade almost broke his on-screen character on social media to send a message to his current rival following SmackDown. The star in question is Carmelo Hayes, a former one-time NXT Champion, a two-time NXT North American Champion, and a one-time Cruiserweight Champion.
El Idolo and Melo have been engaged in a heated rivalry for the past few weeks on television. Last night on SmackDown, the two men faced off for the sixth time. With the reigning WWE Speed Champion holding a 3-2 advantage in their series, Hayes sought to even the score on the September 27, 2024 episode.
LA Knight attempted to interfere during the closing moments of the Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes match. However, while El Idolo was distracted by trying to remove The Megastar from ringside, the former NXT Champion capitalized with a surprise roll-up, leveling the competition at 3-3.
On X/Twitter, a fan shared a GIF showcasing Melo's impressive reversal of Andrade's Superplex into a signature move of his own. In response, the Speed Champion sent a message that seemed to be a subtle nod of approval, praising Carmelo Hayes's skill and athleticism:
"Te odio pero me sorprendió!!" [I hate you but I was surprised!!]

Andrade claims he has lost respect for LA Knight after WWE SmackDown
As mentioned earlier, the WWE United States Champion inadvertently cost El Idolo the match on SmackDown. Following the bout, Andrade and The Megastar engaged in a backstage altercation, requiring Nick Aldis to intervene and separate the two men.
Taking to X (FKA Twitter), El Idolo stated that LA Knight had lost his respect because he refused a handshake last week on SmackDown, and prevented him from winning a match last night.
"First you refused to shake my hand like a real man and champion @RealLAKnight!! Second you interfered with my business and because of you I couldn't get the win!! Now we have a problem!! You totally lost MY RESPECT," he wrote.
It remains to be seen if WWE will announce a match between Andrade and LA Knight for next week's edition of the blue brand.
