Andrade's WWE comeback began less than one year ago as he was wrapping up his AEW run this time last year. The third-generation star is now chasing gold in WWE to become a four-time champion there. Ahead of what could be a very special month for the married man, El Idolo is now showing off his impressive physique.
Andrade was defeated by Miro at the inaugural AEW Worlds End PPV, held exactly one year ago yesterday. This was the last AEW match for the former NXT Champion, who returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble less than one month later. This return to the Stamford-based promotion was a bit more special for the lucha star as he and Charlotte Flair tied the knot while he was All Elite. The Queen suffered multiple injuries less than one month before Andrade's final AEW bout, but she is expected to return to in-ring action any time now.
Andrade has been busy on the blue brand as of late. While dealing with Shinsuke Nakamura, the 35-year-old has helped LA Knight and Apollo Crews battle The New Bloodline but remains focused on the United States Championship currently held by Nakamura. After defeating Carmelo Hayes at Saturday's non-televised live event in Orlando, Andrade took to Instagram with an early morning gym selfie to show off his improved physique.
"Good morning!! Time to workout!! #sunday #gym #motivation #workout #latino #selfie," Andrade wrote with the photo below.
Andrade previously held the United States Championship for 150 days after dethroning Rey Mysterio at a non-televised event in Madison Square Garden on December 26, 2019. He dropped it to Apollo Crews on RAW in May 2020. Nakamura beat LA Knight to kick off his third reign at Survivor Series on November 30.

World Wrestling Entertainment will return to the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, for the first SmackDown episode of 2025 on January 3. This will be held three days before the big RAW Netflix premiere at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.
SmackDown on January 3 will mark the official move to a three-hour format for WWE's B-show. Matches announced include a non-title bout between Andrade and United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, plus Naomi challenging Women's Champion Nia Jax with the title on the line. Nakamura defeated Andrade back in late November.
WWE and the arena website also have several top superstars advertised for the first blue brand taping of the year. The following names are listed: Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, LA Knight, Solo Sikoa, Bayley, The Street Profits, and Bianca Belair.
