Former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and former WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis are both under federal investigation due to alleged sexual assault and sexual trafficking. Both men are no longer employed by the company, but there are still some backstage rumblings about them.
McMahon resigned from his position in WWE and TKO following Janel Grant's lawsuit, which also involved Laurinaitis. The lawsuit is currently on pause due to the federal investigation into the former chairman's alleged sex trafficking and sexual misconduct since 1986.
According to Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp, there was barely any concern about McMahon and Laurinaitis. Some people within the company expected the federal investigation to find something that could implicate McMahon and Laurinaitis. TKO had also seemingly assured talent that the two men were no longer part of the organization.
"People in WWE are not nearly as concerned about the company personally. They expect things to be found about Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis. That's just the long and short of it. At least, from the talent standpoint, everybody feels rid of those two guys. Now, there was a bit of a false sense of security a couple of years ago but now it has been reiterated that internally there is no longer an association there," Sapp said in a recent Q&A podcast. Dijak shares story about meeting Vince McMahon for the very first time
Donovan Dijak's time with WWE is over after his contract expired, and no extension was offered. He was recently interviewed by Fightful and one of the questions asked was about his first interaction with Vince McMahon.
Before the current reiteration of his character, Dijak was called up to the main roster and was given the ring name T-Bar as part of the failed stable, Retribution. He then explained how McMahon had no idea who he was.
"I'm just standing there awkwardly forever. He looks at me, smiles, and waves, I walk over and introduce myself. 'Nice to meet you. I'm Dominik Dijakovic from NXT. I just got called up. I wanted to know if there is anything you're looking for specifically.' 'Have you talked to Bruce Prichard?' 'Yeah, I've talked to Bruce.' 'He does the creative stuff.' From that moment, I was like, 'I'm f***ed.' He doesn't know who I am," Dijak said.
Donovan Dijak added that his second meeting with Vince McMahon was better and even described it as "hilarious." He got scolded for wearing a tank top during his first meeting with the then-WWE chairman and was given a lesson about dressing professionally.
