Backstage update on Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods' heated segment on WWE RAW (Exclusive)

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have been part of The New Day for the last 10 years. The trio has won multiple Tag Team Titles across all three of WWE's weekly programming. While Woods has yet to win a singles title, Kingston and Big E both are former WWE World Champions.

However, things aren't looking great for The New Day as of late. The last few months have seen Woods and Kingston struggle to co-exist as a team. The tension reached a boiling point last night on RAW as both men found themselves in a heated argument after losing to The Alpha Academy in a matter of minutes.

The backstage segment featured multiple references from New Day's past accomplishments and failures. Fans shared their praise for the angle after it went down on WWE RAW this past Monday. One viewer in particular wondered what was the backstage reaction. The question popped up during the latest Live Q&A with Bill Apter and WrestleVotes on Backstage Pass, and the expert journalist had this to say:

"It's all good is what I'm hearing. I do know that these guys, Kofi and Xavier, have had say in this story. It's been kind of this slow-build story for this modern age of wrestling. I haven't heard anything negative regarding the story since it's begun." [25:05 onwards]

Apter had high praise for the segment as well. The veteran wrestling journalist gave credit to Xavier Woods for making it look like a shoot with his delivery of the promo:

"Like I said... you know it's a work. It just looked like, at least from Xavier Woods, it looked like part of that was a shoot," stated Apter. [25:27 onwards].

WWE has announced a New Day 10-year anniversary segment for RAW after Survivor Series: WarGames. It remains to be seen if Triple H pulls the trigger on the group's potential break-up next Monday.
