Petangon Jr. is seemingly headed to WWE. The Mexican star was recently removed from the AEW roster. This week's RAW featured a teaser that had many fans convinced Penta's jump to the promotion was imminent.
Speaking during a recent edition of Q&A on Backstage Pass, WrestleVotes provided the latest backstage update on Penta's WWE status. While the wrestling insider didn't explicitly confirm the rumors, he said a source he talked to within the company believed the RAW teaser was meant for Pentagon Jr.
"A source confirmed that's likely Penta. He didn't wanna go on record and say it was. It certainly seems like it is. You know, Joe, when they do these packages in house they're trying to keep something a surprise. They're not gonna label it; even the people making it may not be sure what it's for. But I did talk to somebody who said it was likely Penta. So, look for Pentagon on January 6th." [05:49 onwards]
For those unaware, WWE ran a brief video package on this week's RAW. The teaser in question didn't feature a person but the number zero. Fans believe the zero implies Pentagon Jr's "Zero Miedo" (Zero fear) slogan. The former AEW Tag Tea Champion has been the talk of the town ever since his contract went up.
As for Penta's brother, Rey Fenix, his string of tweets accusing AEW of mistreatment reportedly caught many within WWE by surprise. Fans will have to wait to see if both members of Lucha Bros will reunite under the creative direction of Triple H.
