Baron Corbin shared a message following a disappointing loss this past Friday night on WWE SmackDown. The veteran was selected by the blue brand in this year's Draft after a stint in NXT.
Apollo Crews and Baron Corbin teamed up to compete in the Tag Team Gauntlet Match to determine the number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championship this past Friday night on SmackDown. Corbin and Crews eliminated Legado Del Fantasma in the match, but in the end, it was The Bloodline's Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga who picked up the victory.
Corbin took to his Instagram today to comment on the loss and claimed he thought they were going to win the match.
"Still p*ssed we got beat. I thought we were going to run the whole damn thing!!! #wwe #smackdown," he wrote.
Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.
Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga will be challenging Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa (#DIY) for the titles this Friday night on SmackDown.
WWE SmackDown star credits Baron Corbin for helping him in NXT
Carmelo Hayes recently praised Baron Corbin for giving him veteran advice while both stars were performing in NXT.
Speaking with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter in an exclusive interview earlier this year, Hayes disclosed that Corbin helped several NXT stars. He noted that the former United States Champion helped him learn about what it takes to be successful on the main roster. The former NXT Champion was a first-round selection by SmackDown in this year's draft.
"Actually, I appreciate Baron Corbin a lot. He's one of those guys that, he came in, you know, he took a lot of us younger guys under his wing in a way, and kind of just smartened us up on the game. There is a lot of stuff that we don't know on the other side, that we aren't privy to because we haven't got to experience that yet." [From 03:04 onwards]
