Bayley gets into a dispute with longtime ally on SmackDown

This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown saw Bayley get into a dispute with a 36-year-old backstage. This was very unlikely since both superstars have been allies for years. The woman in question is Naomi who seemingly wasn’t on the same page with The Hugger regarding the WWE Women’s Championship.

The Glow and The Role Model were scheduled to face Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton in a Tornado Tag Team match. Although Bayley and Naomi were allies, they were also divided due to the bout having an incentive and a punishment.

The woman who could manage to pin Jax would have received a shot at the Women’s Championship. Additionally, the losing woman on the team would've had to leave SmackDown permanently.

While the babyfaces were certain that they wouldn’t lose the match, they started arguing about who would receive the title shot. Moreover, both of them even seemingly taunted each other by saying that they would offer each other the title shot once either of them became the champ.

The tension backstage followed the two allies in the ring as well as The Glow broke a pinfall when The Hugger was attempting a pin on Jax. As fate would have it, the match ended controversially, with both women pinning Queen Nia to take the victory. However, this stripped both of them of the hidden bonus that was supposed to come from the win.

This escalated the dispute between the two friends even more which prompted SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis to intervene. The GM has now asked both women to determine The Aniihilator’s challenger via a singles match between them. It would be interesting to see if Naomi and Bayley continue to remain friends after their number one contender’s match.
