WWE Superstar Bayley is apparently eager to have a bout with a retired legend. In a recent interview, she talked about how she attempted to push for the match herself, hoping it would happen someday in the near future.
The retired star in question is none other than AJ Lee, who has been in the news lately owing to rumors of her potentially coming back to action. While there is no official news about her return, Bayley is quite enthusiastic about potentially facing off against her. In a recent exclusive interview with Dr. Chris Featherstone for Sportskeeda, she talked about her relationship with AJ Lee.
Bayley noted that she had been friends with CM Punk's wife since their match in 2013, where AJ Lee defended her Divas Title. She stated:
"Yes. We did wrestle in 2013 for the Divas championship, which like, I wrestled for the Divas championship. That's freaking crazy, against AJ Lee. And that was really where our friendship and our bond grew from. She was so cool to me. But I think that because of the history and because we have stayed close throughout all these years, which is pretty nuts that we still text each other and hang out, I think it only makes sense. And I know that it's something that I have pushed for, so I hope one day we can make that come to life." [2:23 onwards]

Another WWE star also wants AJ Lee to return
Apart from Bayley, Roxanne Perez has apparently also been campaigning to have AJ Lee back in the Stamford-based promotion.
Speaking in an interview with Pro Wrestling Illustrated, Roxanne talked about how she had been trying to convince CM Punk to get AJ back in the WWE ring, so that she could have a match with the veteran.
"Definitely, yeah, I try [to talk to CM Punk about convincing AJ Lee to return] but he tells me that he’s doing the same thing. He’s trying to get her to come back, he’s pulling her in but, I hope one day she decides to come back and have a match with me," Perez said. (H/T Post Wrestling)
As of now, only time will tell if AJ Lee will actually return to WWE someday.
