WWE Women's Champion Bayley has sent a message to a controversial former superstar ahead of tonight's edition of SmackDown and has received a response. There are three Money in the Bank Qualifiying Triple Threat matches scheduled for tonight's show in Madison Square Garden.

AEW Forbidden Door will be airing live on June 30 from the UBS Arena in New York. Former WWE star Mercedes Moné will be facing Stephanie Vaquer at the premium live event this Sunday. Moné was formerly known as Sasha Banks in WWE and she walked out of the company alongside Naomi in 2022. Ahead of tonight's SmackDown, Bayley sent the TBS Champion a message on social media wondering if she was in New York as well.

"@MercedesVarnado wait wat. r u in new york," she wrote.

Mercedes Moné reacted to the post and asked Bayley if she wanted to hang out and added the hashtag "#brooklyngirls".

The two stars had a memorable match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn in 2015 with Bayley picking up the victory to become the new NXT Women's Champion.

Bayley opens up about her role in WWE

SmackDown star Bayley has discussed her role in the company and believes there is still room for her to grow.

Speaking with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter in an exclusive interview in April, the 35-year-old stated that 2024 is going to be the year that defines her professional wrestling career.

The former Damage CTRL leader added that while she is currently at the top of the promotion's women's division, she doesn't believe she is at that level yet.

"I think this WrestleMania I've been saying, honestly, this year is gonna define my career. I just wanna keep growing, you know? I know I'm at the top level of when you think about women's wrestling, especially in WWE, but, to be honest, I don't think I'm at that level yet." [1:41 – 2:02]
