WWE star Bayley surprisingly admitted that capturing the Women's United States Championship is not her main focus in the company. The former leader of Damage CTRL is competing in the tournament to determine the inaugural Women's US Title, with the finals taking place at Saturday Night's Main Event next month.
In an interview with Brad Gilmore on CW 39 Houston, The Role Model shared that she pushed hard for the Women's Tag Team Championship to be introduced, and they were not going to stop until it happened.
The veteran noted that she didn't push as hard for the Women's United States Championship, but the division was ready for it. She also claimed that there was still a lot of work to be done with the women's tag team division.
"With this one, it’s more of ones that I would say in interviews, and that’s only because I believe that we can carry a secondary title like that. The division is ready for it. But I also wanted to see the Women’s Tag [Team] Title grow as well. It was hard to say I want another title when I still think there’s so much work to be done with the tag titles," she said. Bayley picks winner in hypothetical match between two major WWE stars
SmackDown star Bayley recently revealed who she would pick to win if Women's Tag Team Champions Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair faced each other in a singles match in WWE.
Speaking with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter in an exclusive interview earlier this year, Bayley revealed that she would pick Bianca Belair to defeat Jade Cargill in a singles match due to her experience in the ring. However, she suggested she could have a different answer in a couple of years if asked the same question.
"If that match happens, I'm gonna have to go with Bianca, and that's only because she had so many matches with me. She's learned from the best! She, in the end, has more experience than Jade Cargill right now, and maybe that doesn't happen in a couple of years from now [compared to] if that match were to happen today. But I'm gonna have to go with The EST." [From 03:07 – 03:28]
