The new Women's World Champion, Becky Lynch, recently spoke about her win on Monday Night RAW.

Lynch was one of several women competing in a Battle Royal this week to crown the new champion. This was due to Rhea Ripley vacating the title last week after she suffered an injury following a backstage attack by Liv Morgan. Becky and Liv were the final remaining participants in the match, and The Man eliminated Morgan with the Manhandle Slam.

During a digital exclusive interview with WWE, the Irish star hoped her daughter would be proud of her. She mentioned that her husband, Seth Rollins, texted her, informing her they had watched the match. She joked that they always needed one championship belt in the house, and now it was her turn.

"Everything that I do, I want to make her [Becky Lynch's daughter] proud, you know. I hope she’s proud! She did [stay up late to watch the match]. I got a text from my husband [Seth Rollins], who’s recovering from surgery. At all stages, we need at least one champ in the house. So I’m bringing it home, baby," said Lynch. [From 1:25 - 1:50]

Vince Russo discussed Becky Lynch's championship win

This week on Legion of RAW, former WWE writer Vince Russo shared a possible reason why Becky Lynch won the title. Russo detailed that her contract was up soon, and WWE might have felt she wanted to take some time off.

"Maybe they [WWE] felt she [Becky Lynch] wasn't going to sign, and they wanted her to sign. This is a way of them showing all the confidence they have in her. They're putting the title. That's almost what it sounds like to me. I was under the impression that her character was kinda getting a little old and tired," he said.

Russo felt this was a way for WWE to show that they had a lot of faith in her and get her to sign a new contract with the company.

It will be interesting to see how WWE books The Man's title run in Rhea Ripley's absence.
