A beloved WWE team has spoken about breaking up amidst many rumors. The team has been together for more than eight years.

The Street Profits have been the topic of rumors in recent months, with there always being a point where fans have wondered when they'll break up so that Montez Ford gets a solo push. While everyone has been waiting to see what happens, the team has now spoken about it in an interview with Sports Illustrated.

Montez Ford spoke about the breakup and compared their team to teams like The New Day and The Hart Foundation. He said that they'd need to put their own twist on it. He said that he'd want to stay with Angelo Dawkins for the long haul. He added that even as they were picking up tag team gold, he felt like they could take part in singles competition as well.

“The Hart Foundation and New Day, respect to both crews, but the Street Profits would have to put our flavor on it. I’m down with Angelo for the long haul–Angelo is power and speed, he’s a linebacker. And for sure, I think we can take the WWE tag team titles and add some singles gold, too.”

Dawkins also added to the topic, saying that they were brothers both inside and outside the ring and that he would like to work on singles accolades while still pursuing tag team gold.

“We are brothers in and out of the ring. I would like to hold tag team gold with Montez while working on some singles accolades, as well. Tez brings that crazy agility to the ring and his personality sets him apart, he gets me hyped.”

Essentially, neither star wants to break up completely with the other but is prepared to stay together even while they try to get individual gold. It remains to be seen what Triple H does with them, as he holds the ultimate power as the creative head of the company.

Street Profits became a team 8 years ago in 2016 in WWE

The Street Profits originally were hired as singles wrestlers within WWE. Dawkins joined as the hype man for Sasha Banks, and then Ford was hired later. They were brought together as a team in March 2016. Later on, in 2017, they'd be renamed The Street Profits and get a whole new push.

They have since been seen as one of the most capable teams in the company, regularly involved in the tag team title picture.

While they've only won three WWE tag team titles over the course of their careers in the company, they are still one of the most beloved teams in the division.
