WWE Superstar Big E recently broke his silence on Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods' current direction on television. The 38-year-old also took several shots at his former New Day teammates.
In 2024, The New Day completed 10 years in World Wrestling Entertainment. A special episode of RAW was dedicated to the faction, during which Kingston and Woods teased a breakup. However, Big E made a surprise appearance to convince his former teammates to continue working with each other. The former WWE Champion also mentioned that despite his neck injury, he would happily become The New Day's manager on TV.
However, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods rebuffed Big E's proposal, saying they did not need him before taking personal shots at him and his girlfriend. Since then, Kingston and Woods have been heavily booed on television.
Following RAW's big debut on Netflix, Big E was asked about The New Day on the post-show panel. The 38-year-old said he did not know what his former teammates were focusing on now, highlighting their lack of success in winning titles since his departure.
"Ahh, look, those guys are focusing on a lot of things besides the main thing. You know, since my departure, championships haven't really been something that they've held a lot over the last almost three years. They seem very distracted by what's going on, worrying about the people's claims or lack thereof. I'd like to see those guys move towards something," he said.
Big E also criticized several of The New Day's stars before saying he did not recognize this version of his former teammates.
"I don't know what this current direction is of whining and complaining, b**ching and moaning. These are not the two men that I stood side by side for the last ten years. This version of those two, I don't recognize... I thought these would be my brothers for a long time coming. Clearly, we moved in very different directions, but I'm excited or interested to see what they do with their careers because right now, it's just kind of spinning," he added.
